This blog is part of WAR AS EVER! a project focussing on the relationship between conflict, looking and art, taking the historical Van Kittensteyn album as starting point. Through a specially developed character based on the historical figure of a street vendor, the artists present an element of the project beyond the museum’s boundaries in Rotterdam’s public domain. The Pedlar navigates the city between a constellation of cultural institutions showing to a variety of audiences a selection of photographs with the aim of stimulating discussion on the subject of human suffering and violence.
